Rules for Admission to First Year Diploma in Engg. & Tech.

Admission under Linguistic Minority Status for Hindi Speaking Community:

The institute has been granted Linguistic Minority Status for Hindi Speaking Community by the Govt. of Maharashtra vide Letter No.ASS-2008/22/C.R.65/2008/35 dt.31st July, 2009

  1. The sanctioned intake 51 % seats will be filled from amongst the eligible candidates from Hindi speaking Minority Community.
  2. As per Maharashtra State Letter - Original Domicile Certificate of the candidate of Maharashtra State must be BY BIRTH / PERMANENT RESIDENTS, and it will be not accepted by institute if its BY CHOICE / FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE, / INTEND TO STAY.
  3. Indian Nationality Certificate (Birth Certificate) must be compulsory.
  4. The candidates have to submit an affidavit for minority status on a Rs. 100/- non-judicial stamp paper. (Refer our sample Performa)
Admission Process

Admission Procedure for First Year:

  1. The admissions are carried out as per the norms and schedule framed by the DTE from time to time.
  2. Eligible candidates seeking admission to first year of diploma course should submit their application forms complete in all respect together with necessary documents, to the institute’s office as per the schedule issued by DTE, which will be displayed on the institute’s notice board.
  3. Selection for admission will be strictly on the basis of inter-se-merit of the eligible candidates from the respective State Board areas based on the marks at the S.S.C. (Std. X) examination.  The merit list will be displayed on the institute’s Notice Board.
  4. Notices from time to time will be put up declaring the names of the candidates selected for admission in order of merit, indicating the date by which they must appear for interview.  Candidates should, therefore, see the notice board regularly, if a candidate fails to report along with all original certificates on schedule time and date, his / her admission will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next candidates as per  the merit list.
  5. In  case  of  tie,  i.e.  candidates  having  equal marks best of 5  in  qualifying  examination  i.e.  S.S.C. examination, the inter-se merit of candidates shall be reassessed as laid down below:

    • A candidate who has secured higher % of marks in the subject of Mathematics at S.S.C. examination will have First priority.
    • A candidate who has secured higher % of marks in the subject of Science at the S.S.C. Examination will have Second priority.
    • A candidate who has secured higher % of marks in the subject of English at the S.S.C. Examination will have third priority.
    • A candidate passing H.S.C. (Std. XII) Science stream examination at (10 +2) level will have Fourth priority.
    • A candidate passing H.S.C. (Std. XII) Examination with M.C.V.C. will have Fifth priority.
    • A candidate passing ITI Trade of 2 Years will have Sixth Priority.
    • A candidate passing Intermediate grade drawing examination will have Seventh priority.
    • Date of Birth of candidate (Elder candidate will be given preference).

Course Fees:

Fees is chargeable as per “Shikshan Shulka Samiti”Maharashtra State guidelines and should pay in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order of Nationalized Bank valid for minimum six month in favor of ‘Thakur Polytechnic’. Proposed Interim Fees for the academic year 2011-12 is Rs. 58650/- excluding admission and lab deposit fees. If the final fees approved is less then the interim fee collected, shall be refunded with in 4 weeks by the institute.

Fees Refund Policy

Refund of tuition fee, development and other fees after cancellation of admission, shall be as per AICTE guidelines No. AICTE / Legal/ 04(01)/ 2007, April2007 and circular no.698 dtd 24/8/2007 issued by Pravesh Niyantran Samithi, Mumbai.

The Candidate who has been admitted may cancel admission by submitting an application in duplicate, in the prescribed proforma – M, may request for refund of fees. The refund of fees as applicable shall be made in due course. It is made clear that such application for cancellations will be considered if and only if the admission is confirmed by paying the prescribed tuition fee and other fees in full and by submitting the original documents. Refund shall be made after deduction of cancellation charges.

Note

  • Entire amount of security/caution money deposits is to be refunded back.
  • For calculation of amount on the prorate-basis, one month shall be treated as one unit, e.g. if the candidate cancel the admission on third day after start of academic session and seat could be filled before the cut-off date, then cancellation charges will be higher amount of (Total fees)/12 or Rs.1000/-.

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme of AICTE :

  • Under the Scheme, up to 5 percent of sanctioned intake per course shall be available for
    these admissions.
  • Sons and daughters of parent having annual income of less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs from all sources shall only be eligible for seats under this scheme.
  • The Waiver is limited to the tuition fee as approved by the State Level Fee Committee for self-financing Institutions. All other Fee except tuition fees will have to be paid by the beneficiary.
  • All such additional seats shall be treated as TFWS seats of Maharashtra state quota. These additional seats will be filled as State Level seats and will be made available to eligible candidates of Tuition Fee Waiver scheme as a separate choice.

Submission of Documents

The candidate called for detailed scrutiny of the application must produce the following certificates in original at the time of scrutiny /interview.  In case all the relevant documents are not produced, the candidate will loose his/her claim for admission and his/her request for extension of the date will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Attested Copy of Documents to be submitted alongwith the Application Form at the time of Submission  & Original Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission as follows: 

  • Statement of marks of VIII, IX and  X examination
  • Leaving Certificate issued by the School/College
  • Statement of marks of H.S.C. Science examination (if any).
  • Affidavit for Minority Status.
  • Domicile Certificate of the Candidate
  • Intermediate Grade Drawing Certificate.
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Medical Certificate, duly completed already printed in Application Form
  • 5 Color pass port  size photographs with white background  (At the time of Admission)
  • Fees in form of Demand Draft / Pay Order of Nationalized Bank in favour of Thakur Polytechnic.
  • Annual Income Certificate of Parents issued by Tahsildar / Subdivisional Officer / Deputy Collector / Collector of the district for Tuition Fee waiver scheme.
